Wristbeams™ was created from a simple realization, light shouldn’t hold you back. Like many great ideas, it started with a real-life moment. Trying to navigate in the dark with a phone flashlight- awkward, limiting, and frustrating. One hand occupied, the other trying to manage everything else.

Rick Goren – Inventor. Innovator.

Rick Goren has been inventing for over 20 years but his story started long before that.

At a young age, Rick had the rare opportunity to work alongside innovators behind products and brands we all recognize today, industries like alarm systems, OnStar, suntan lotion, and other global brands that became part of everyday life. Watching these individuals build hundred-million-dollar companies left a lasting impression.

It showed him what was possible. And it lit a fire in him to build something of his own.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Rick grew up in a family of seven, and at just 6 years old, his life changed forever. His father passed away unexpectedly.

Overnight, everything shifted. The life he knew, Pinewood Derby races, Boy Scouts, Father’s Day was gone. His mother didn’t work, didn’t drive, and didn’t even have a checking account. Childhood didn’t last long.

Rick had to grow up fast. But something powerful came out of those difficult years. With very little money and very few resources, he learned how to build, fix, and imagine.

He discovered something that would shape the rest of his life: Creativity doesn’t come from abundance; it comes from necessity. Those early challenges didn’t break him, they built him. They instilled relentless work ethic, deep resilience, and unshakable belief that your starting point does not determine your finish line. Rick carried that mindset into everything he created.

Over the years, his inventions including the RotoShovel®, Qube Cotton Swab Dispenser®, Speaker Snap™ Audio Connectors, and Heartbeats® Electronic Stethoscope have helped build a multi-million-dollar portfolio of products used by people everywhere.
